“I will give you three. One, a top one for me, go for a long walk. Mull around what you are thinking… Go and ask your head, your heart and your gut what is really going on. What are they saying to you? Give yourself a chance to actually think things through. Secondly get out and talk to the others, mastermind group or networking. Get among people where you can open up to what you are doing and just get other people’s views ”…[Listen for More]

“Customer empathy, customer empathy, customer empathy combined with mitigating risk. Always be focused on your customers and their problems independent of your product. Don’t ask them if they want a faster horse… Then the second is risk mitigation. So, make sure that you are mitigating risk. Don’t be an entrepreneur wants to take risk be an entrepreneur who wants to mitigate risk because that is the path to success. Then the final one was don’t run out of cash. Cash is king. “Being an entrepreneur is not for everybody and I think a lot of people think that it’s cool, it’s easy, it has sex appeal or whatever… It’s not… It’s really hard and there is not a safety net. I think that can be really, really scary for people. One of the best pieces of advice is to know what you are getting into and if you are really terrified about doing it maybe it’s not the best thing for you. Maybe there are other things that you can do and that’s fine… The first thing you need to do is do something because most people won’t actually execute”…[Listen for More]

As a Chemist, Educator, and Naturalista, Rhonda Marshall brings a truly unique perspective to the beauty industry. Rhonda saw a clear consumer need and personal passion to take better care of her naturally curly hair. Her curls were something she was proud of and she felt distinguished her personality. After years of using relaxers and other chemical laden products, and high heat styling methods that damaged her hair to modify her natural curl pattern, she felt there had to be a better way. While at Helene Curtis (now Unilever) Rhonda worked on projects developing Suave Shampoos and Conditioners as well as the first Clear Stick for (Degree) Antiperspirant/Deodorant. After earning a Masters Degree in Education, she has also worked as a Certified Educator teaching Chemistry and Science at the Secondary level. Finally, after transitioning away from chemically processed hair in 2001, Rhonda eventually developed her own hair products incorporating natural ingredients that were especially effective for naturally curly hair textures. With this experience not only as a Chemist but also as a customer, Rhonda developed what would eventually become the Inahsi Naturals product line. Inahsi Naturals products have been used by award winning celebrity stylists behind the scenes for a number of shows including ABC’s ‘Black●ish, The CW’s Riverdale, and the film starring Eddie Murphy, Coming 2 America.

“I would say the number one thing is don’t quit your day job, that’s the number one. And I know people say just go out there and just fly. No, no, no, no. Your job can help to fund your business. So it is nothing wrong, no shame in your game if you have a job and you are side hustling your business… To help fund your side hustle. Because you don’t want to get out there and your business can’t sustain or your family can’t sustain you. So, you definitely want to make sure if you have a job, you make sure you are saving… The demand is there”…[Listen for More]

“it’s definitely having a vision, making a plan and be ready to change the plan but make sure that whatever you do follow a very simple algorithm that we use basically every day for every decision. So, when you have to take a decision ask yourself is this decision going in the right direction? Yes or no? If it is no, you just discard it. Is it an open platform? So even if you are not really getting to your final destination is it helping you to move forward later on or is it a dead-end? And the third is the most important… Can I get a benefit in the short-term? That could be an economic benefit or any other sort of benefit but show be a benefit in the short-term otherwise it means that it’s not the right moment to take that action. Tim Phizackerley is a UK hypnotist, hypnotherapy teacher and mind coach. He advertises as being Britain's fastest hypnotist and helps real people with serious problems. He has a diploma with distinction in clinical hypnotherapy, has worked with the occasional celebrity, has an international client list and has also been featured in the national press and on radio and TV. MORE INFO BELOW JUST IN CASE YOU NRED IT... His interest in hypnosis happened pretty much by accident and out of desperation when his wife was struggling with a terminal illness. Twenty years on Tim is a hypnotist and his wife is now a multiple transplantee and a rare survivor of three terminal illnesses. As a hypnotist and therapist Tim likes to specialise in mindset and problems that other therapists either don't want to work on or have otherwise failed with. This means that he mostly works on alcohol and other addictions, also serious eating disorders. But he also likes to work on things like performance, post traumatic stress, and anxiety. His method for treating PTSD was recently independently endorsed by proffessionap neuroscientists in a published independent clinical study which reported positive outcomes for every participant. (Note. Reference for this is available if desired) He designed a fear of flying system which is offered through some of the UKs biggest airports. And he has also created tools and methods which are being used in a number of UK schools to help children with mental health issues. He says that hypnosis absolutely isn't what you think it is and that everyone should understand it. Although he is now a professional hypnotist and therapist he also says there are some serious problems in the world of hypnotherapy.

“don’t let anybody else tell you that you can’t do it. Decide that you are going to do it better than anyone else and don’t listen to anyone who tells you that you can’t. If you set your sights all low it’s hardly going to be a surprise if you don’t achieve very much ”…[Listen for More]

“I think being an entrepreneur is a balancing act that changes over time. In the beginning is about saying yes to everything because your wheelhouse is just forming, you are trying to figure it out, you are seeing what sticks. And that is going to push you and keep you up at night… Like literally there were many late nights because we said yes. But I think keeping that early door open to anything helps you figure out what works and what doesn’t. And then there is a shift and we have to learn the power of no and stay in your lane which Lee spoke about and realising that you can’t be all things to all people and that being busy only works if you are trying to get to where you want to go but it’s not going to work if you are burnt out in the process. And so, it’s finding that balance of when to say no yes and when to say no. And then as you get more established and as you move on into the maturity of your business don’t be afraid to challenge your own status quo. When something comes along and it’s uncomfortable and scary but it fits within your wheelhouse sometimes saying yes can transform what you are doing “ [Listen for More]

“don’t listen to the naysayers. I think that entrepreneurs are a rare breed and being an entrepreneur isn’t for everyone. And so often times we go to family and friends for advice and it’s important to keep in mind that they are giving advice based on who they are and not who you are.
