“Start with the end in mind. Know what your business is going to look like in five, 10 years’ time and build from that point. The other piece of advice is there is nothing that you must do. We are surrounded by experts who tell us we must do this, we must do that, we must do the other. There is nothing you must do. There is advice. It’s your business you determine which advice you want to take, which advice is relevant to you and your business. Which advice is going to work in your circumstances in the context in which you’re operating and then you decide what to do. Just because something has been successful the one person it doesn’t mean it’s going to be successful for you ”…[Listen for More]

“Get help where you need it. And that comes into parts… It comes in the fact that you should find a mentor or a business coach even if it is simply to bounce ideas off them. It might be that it is a friend. It might be a friend that you can use as an accountability partner to genuinely hold you accountable to do the things that you know you need to do. Known as The Book Angel for “cause publishing,” Susie Schaefer believes that books are the gateway to creating a movement. Her love of books goes far beyond the feel of a fabric cover or the smell of a library. Whether writing a book helps an author heal past trauma or raises awareness for social change, Susie empowers storytellers to be part of the global conversation and create a ripple effect for humanity. Working with business owners brings her tremendous joy, particularly when an author shares their own personal story and creates “Business Ascension” by melding their mission and message. Susie comes to the table with an array of superpowers; her unique combination of business acumen, street smarts, and mystic intuitive gifts to help people see what’s truly possible with no limitations. Her corporate experience working with non-profits, teaching and training in human resources and as a marketing expert, and a stint in radio broadcasting and commercial acting allows Susie to skillfully guide authors through the independent publishing process to finish that dream book, launch a speaking career, or build a business with a book that gets results and gives back. In addition to publishing inspirational books, Susie writes and edits screenplay adaptations of books through her passion project, Movie Muse Productions. Susie’s understanding of social impact, or “cause” publishing, enables her to offer a unique foundation for publishing by building community, creating connections, and serving as a catalyst for change. When not reading, publishing books or writing award-winning screenplays, Susie can be found practicing her downward dog (yoga), meditating on the beach, or planning her next travel adventure.

As a Chemist, Educator, and Naturalista, Rhonda Marshall brings a truly unique perspective to the beauty industry. Rhonda saw a clear consumer need and personal passion to take better care of her naturally curly hair. Her curls were something she was proud of and she felt distinguished her personality. After years of using relaxers and other chemical laden products, and high heat styling methods that damaged her hair to modify her natural curl pattern, she felt there had to be a better way. While at Helene Curtis (now Unilever) Rhonda worked on projects developing Suave Shampoos and Conditioners as well as the first Clear Stick for (Degree) Antiperspirant/Deodorant. After earning a Masters Degree in Education, she has also worked as a Certified Educator teaching Chemistry and Science at the Secondary level. Finally, after transitioning away from chemically processed hair in 2001, Rhonda eventually developed her own hair products incorporating natural ingredients that were especially effective for naturally curly hair textures. With this experience not only as a Chemist but also as a customer, Rhonda developed what would eventually become the Inahsi Naturals product line. Inahsi Naturals products have been used by award winning celebrity stylists behind the scenes for a number of shows including ABC’s ‘Black●ish, The CW’s Riverdale, and the film starring Eddie Murphy, Coming 2 America.
