“don’t shy away from hard work… It’s not about glory and social media and all of the things that you can get around it. And none of those things are going to fill the hole you have in yourself anyway. I know a lot of people who have got to the point where they have a lot of those things and then begin to wonder okay well why do I still feel the same way I did when I started on this journey. Do the work for the works sake and find a mission that feels fulfilling to you and lean into it. Don’t shy away from it”…[Listen for More]

“you should be a thought leader in your industry. And if you can’t be a thought leader in your industry dig deeper until you can find the industry within your industry where you can lead. This is way should live now, that’s where you should rule, is find a corner of the world as I mentioned earlier that you can own. I say it about Stockport’s law. Any area that lacks an expert, whoever puts up their hand first becomes it. You’ve got to go and find an area where there isn’t an expert where someone isn’t owning the opinion within your industry in this and then on that”…[Listen for More]

“the bigger difficulties were when starting my business getting everything set up structure wise from the beginning. Simple organisational structures is what I mean. I didn’t have someone that was like go and set up this tax entity and all of that stuff that’s very important. So, it was just one of those things that I wish I would have known to set that up that way. Other than that, the difficulty with balance and keeping that in mind. Being so focused on the business I lost just that focus of spending time with relationships that mattered. So that balance is important in all things.”…[Listen for More]

“To not ask for opinions of those who have not done things that you are attempting to do. The quickest way to get terrible feedback but also the quickest way to have someone crush your dreams and prematurely halt your forward movement is by asking those who have never attempted anything remotely close to what you are attempting to do especially if it is going to make the world better. When you open the door to those things you also open the door to other people’s fears and insecurities to drive which is not what you want. “don’t always just go everywhere with a hustle on. People can smell that and see that… You know those people that they are talking to you and they are not really looking at you anymore. They are looking for the next target… Sometimes just go to events and see what it feels like to not be in sales mode or connected business mode. Have a conversation with somebody. Like you find out they sale, talk to them about their boat. Or you find out that their mother is sick. Make a note of that. Call them, ask them hey how’s your mom, I was just checking in. Later, Tony returned to his entrepreneurship roots to bring the strategy, tactics and resources normally reserved for large enterprises to small businesses.

“I noticed there is just six factors that drive growth in business and so that’s why I created a framework called the results loop. In so it looks at the six factors that drive success regardless of the industry, the size of the company, whether they want scale or to grow and just hit the next level. And those six factors are number one looking at your markets that you are serving; number two looking at the products or services or offerings you are serving them; number three looking at the value- so many times businesses skip over their value and their value proposition; followed by growing the number of buyers to size those buyers and then driving loyalty which means getting them to buy again and again and again. And getting them to refer you to others.”…[Listen for More]

“get out of your own way, drop the fear. Whatever your excuses you’ve been telling yourself it’s just a narrative it’s not real. “make sure that the venture that you are going into is something that you are passionate about, something you believe in because if you are not passionate about it and you are just doing it for the dollars or the potential quick cash you are not playing the long game I feel because you will never last. “be very thoughtful about who you want to work with rather than just what you want to work on. I mentioned I started this as a solo founder. I honestly wouldn’t recommend that to anyone. Of course, there are exceptions but I think those exceptions are so rare I’m going to tell people just don’t be a solo founder. And if you are one of the rare exceptions you will figure out who you are. But really look for the people who are going to share your passion and your vision. Make sure that you are not doing it alone. Similarly, really be thoughtful about who you want to work with in terms of partnering, in terms of investors because the people who have any kind of early access to your business are going to have such a huge impact on your success or failure and on your experience along the way”…[Listen for More]

She prepares leaders to win and own the toughest of crowds at significant public speaking events - keynotes, internal & external presentations, shareholder meetings, commencement speeches, award shows and more. If you’re a leader, you may already know how vital it is to have a discreet wingman (or woman, in this case) who understands your strengths and weaknesses, who prepares you - top to bottom and inside-out - for major milestones. To own a room, to truly kill an audience, is a tough solo act, but Melina will be there to support you the whole way.
