“I think it was what did I want to do. I knew I wanted to do something and it was what’s the right fit? What’s the right place for me? And I was in the way of my own self. So, most people in my life and not surprised that I am an entrepreneur today it was just a matter of when. So, I would say the difficulty was myself and being confident that I would figure out what it is that made sense for me and have the belief that I could do it”…[Listen for More]

An experienced business speaker, adviser and entrepreneur, Brad helps some of Australia’s leading mid-sized firms, CEOs and leadership teams to thrive. He is also the author of Made to Thrive: The Five Roles to Evolve Beyond Your Leadership Comfort Zone

“stop doing other people’s jobs. So, you’ve got to understand if you are a leader and you are doing the sales managers job you are doing a disservice to him and plus you are not doing your job. So, stop doing other people’s jobs, whatever it is. Give people the space around you to thrive. Number two, build cash. Ideally, we want to have a cash reserve for small to medium businesses of two months of fixed expenses cash at bank. If you don’t have cash in the bank and you are worried about paying bills you are never going to be able to think strategically. Then number three is to always have 3 to 5 priorities for yourself, for the whole business, for each of the teams, for everybody in the business to always have 3 to 5 priorities ”…[Listen for More]

“finding a community of other leaders. And part of that is the old adage is leadership is lonely. Sometimes when our wrestling through things having other people who understand who are actually doing similar things is really powerful because it’s a little safer. If you have employees you can’t always tell you’re employees you are struggling, that’s not always a good idea… So, having other business leaders that you can go to be like I don’t know how I am going to make payroll and the other person goes you know what dude I’ve been there. Just that kind of power and community is really, really helpful. Just don’t go it alone”…[Listen for More]

“you have to do what I would call a self-gut check once in a while. Take it for granted that you have perseverance, that you have drive, that you have work ethic and so on and so forth. But if you are confronted with something where there are factors whether they are external or internal that make you question if you could be 100 percent in, all in then you need to step back a little bit and analyse it and ask yourself why that is… Am I being realistic or not realistic and decide to take a different direction”…[Listen for More]

“really set milestones and drive to towards those milestones in a disciplined way. At any given time especially at the beginning there are a million things to do. Every founder has a million things to do from day one. And the number of things does not shrink. As you hire people, as you get customers the number of items on your list will expand.
