“to make better decisions one of the things that can help make better decisions is to get more information. When you look at people no one really wants to make bad decisions, no one willingly gets up in the morning and says today I’m going to make a bad decision. That second we make a decision we make the best decisions that we can make at that given moment. The only challenge is sometimes we don’t have enough information, we didn’t ask enough questions, we didn’t gather more information, tools whatever it is to help us make better decisions ”…[Listen for More]

“if you haven’t started someday is not a day of the week. Start it today. Even if you just go and print business cards, it’s the simplest thing to do, get it done, hand it out, tell people what you do. If you are already doing it don’t ever tell yourself you can’t. A lot of people say okay I’m going to do this, they put it out on social, this is what I’m going to do, they tell everybody and then they sit back and wait for the phone to ring. And I say you haven’t done anything. You haven’t sent out ships to come into the harbour. You have sat around and told everybody what you are going to do but you haven’t done it. As an entrepreneur you have to set the intention then you have to do the work to get the people in the front door”…[Listen for More]

“one of the things that is really important for an entrepreneur is to persevere. Now I’m not saying that sometimes people won’t come up with the business that is not going to work but usually you just need to course correct because what you startup starts out with isn’t what you end up with because you evolve based on the market. “you cannot control how smart you are… But the one thing you can control is how hard you work. You have got to do the grind and hopefully your passionate about what you’re doing. “’have a go’ it sounds simplistic but don’t let your gut hold you back, go and have a go. And it’s amazing what you can do when you say ‘wouldn’t it be cool if we tried this’. As a young girl growing up in Norway, Annicken R Day fell in love with old Hollywood movies, especially the musical South Pacific from 1958. When she visited the Hawaiian island of Kaua’i thirty years later, she learned by coincidence that South Pacific had been filmed there and that the mystical island of Bali Ha’i indeed existed. That was when the idea for the story about Maya Williams first came to her, a story inspired by Annicken’s own life and experiences, and by people—and butterflies—she has met on her journey. After fifteen years as a leader and executive in the IT industry, Annicken jumped off the corporate treadmill in 2012 to start her own company, Corporate Spring, with a mission to make the corporate world a happier place. Since then she and her team have helped and trained thousands of leaders around the world on how to build thriving corporate cultures, high performing teams, and successful businesses. “do you believe in yourself? …the opportunities are coming and going all the time, you recognise them, some aren’t so good, some are really good. “Pan for silver work for gold. And here is what I mean by that. A good idea might present itself but it is not going to present itself as a gold idea there just has to be something there that is intriguing. Either that could be a business model, that could be a person that you maybe want to bring onto your team, that might be a new idea for a new product, that might be an idea for a piece of content that you want to share. I think that too many people think that the great ideas, the great people, the great talent just presents itself, and that’s wrong. My experience in stand-up comedy knows this, that you go on stage with a bullet point and you go I think there is something here and you start it and it’s called the bit. And there is something to a bit. And a bit start with an insight, with an idea and then you just what we call in comedy you work the bit. You work it, you do it over and over again, you talk about it, you do it in a small room, you do it in a big room, you just perfect the bit over time. You pan for silver but you work for gold. And nothing is going to present itself to you, you need to do the work”…[Listen for More]
